‘Aquatic Therapy sessions take place at Academy Swim Club in Valencia, combining the therapeutic benefits of water with skilled pediatric physical therapy care. The warm, supportive water environment offers buoyancy and gentle resistance, allowing children to move more freely while minimizing stress on joints and muscles.
Aquatic Therapy is especially ideal for children with spasticity, weakness, and sensory difficulties. The warmth and hydrostatic pressure of the water help reduce muscle tone and spasticity, promoting relaxation and smoother movement patterns. Buoyancy supports the body, making it easier for children with weakness to practice strength, balance, and functional movements with greater success and less fatigue. For children with sensory challenges, the consistent deep pressure and calming input from the water can improve body awareness, regulation, and tolerance to movement.
In a fun, safe, and engaging pool environment, we provide individualized, play-based treatment sessions designed to build strength, coordination, endurance, confidence, and overall functional mobility—helping each child make meaningful progress toward their therapy goals.
*All patients are required to have an Initial Physical Therapy Evaluation prior to starting Aquatic Therapy sessions. Contact me for more details.
